Edwin Saidi completed the MSc BIS in 2008 and is now working as an IT Business Analyst at MALSWITCH Limited. He is responsible for analysing, defining and designing business processes for payment systems. Edwin has also recently published an article in the Journal of Internet Banking and Commerce on the future of mobile commerce in Malawi: his paper is an extract from his master's thesis and investigates possible m-commerce applications, key stakeholders and potential implementation problems in Malawi.
"Problems being faced by organisations are getting too complex to be addressed by IT competency alone. To effectively address these problems, MSc BIS seamlessly blends IT, business, management and soft skills into one comprehensive skill called hybrid management.
"I work on projects for the design, development and implementation of payment systems for commercial banks, the central bank, financial institutions and private companies. I provide the link between clients, the development team and any third party regarding software functionality in the systems development lifecycle. My transition into this role was natural, thanks to the BIS modules Information Systems Theory and Practice, Technology Management, and People and Technology."
